Hey man, I love you work!

Could you tell me how you did those star trail photos? I know its to do with slow shutter speed but clearly stars dont move so fast so it mustve taken hours to take and itd damage the lens if it was open for so long.

Most of my recent trails are a combination of successive 30 second exposures, this gives more control over the image then just leaving the shutter open for an hour or so. The lens and camera don't mind long exposures, it just eats up the batteries that power the sensor and camera electronics.
